Great Island Walk

Saturday (Sept 26) – 1:00pm – The Saturday walk was CANCELLED, but this town property is open to all now, so whenever you’re in the area, check it out!

Luckily, Sally Wurtzell Wright & Gail Mardfin had a chance to walk there on Friday of the reunion weekend.

Sally & Bill took many walks here, so she was a great tour guide.

Great Island, formerly the Zeigler Estate, is now owned by the town of Darien. You can explore the beautiful 60-acre property full of paved trails on foot – no vehicles, bicycles, or dogs are allowed.

There is no on-site parking, so your best bet is to park on lower end of Harbor Road and walk to the entrance. See map below.
