50th+1 Reunion Details

Friday – Sunday, October 14-16, 2022 Reunion*


We hope you agree the October dates we have chosen will be a beautiful time to return to enjoy the fall foliage as you cruise around your old hometown. Cost of reunion weekend: $145. Your committee has carefully considered the budget and has a great weekend planned! The only thing missing could be…YOU! So plan to attend – your 50th reunion is a milestone and a great opportunity to reconnect – don’t miss it!

Friday night – 5:30 PM – ??
Gathering at Louie’s
in downtown Darien (10 Center St.)
Room reserved with access to outside area.
CASH BAR and a selection of hors d’oeuvres selected by the Reunion Committee (included in reunion weekend price).

Saturday Day – Your choice…
8:30-10:30 AM – Breakfast near the Sugar Bowl (the old restaurant we knew has closed but has reopened as “The Club” – breakfast at 7am 365 days a year!). Check it out or plenty of nearby options…all within walking distance of an outdoor courtyard with fountain, tables & chairs

UCBC (Upper Crust Bakery & Café) (coffee & bagels, muffins)

11:00 AM – Yoga with Sue Reichart Allen
Sue’s yoga is accessible for most people in their 60s. We will be moving our joints (no, not that kind!) and working on moving with our breath; a few traditional yoga moves like cat/cow, etc. will be included. We will be listening to our bodies and not doing anything that hurts or feels uncomfortable. Bring a yoga mat or towel. Location: TBD

“Mid-morning” Tee Off at the Country Club of Darien – $250 includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch at the half-way house, and apres-golf libations in the clubhouse. Contact Peter Rogers if interested: progers1@optonline.net

Darien High School Football Game– Most likely at 1:30 PM, a DHS football game! The team is doing very well (2021 season was 12-1), with opposing team and location TBA in August.

Saturday Night – 6:30-11:30 PM
Dinner & Dancing at the Country Club of Darien**
CASH BAR – NOTE: Real cash. Credit cards not accepted
Dress code: ‘Club’ attire is required; i.e. collared shirts, no ripped jeans, etc.

Sunday
9:00-10:30 AM – Optional bike ride touring the town led by Bruce Manchon. Meetup point: Pear Tree Point Beach. Bring your own bike & helmet. Contact b17man@gmail.com if interested. Click for bike rental info.

11:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Weed Beach, Paddle ball pavilion
Sandwiches, Beverages (beer/wine/soda/water) and Egg Toss(!!) 
Included with Reunion Weekend.
If you can only attend the Sunday gathering, cost is $20 per person.
